Broadsheet
A fairly simple college publication that gives information on what's going on. To be honest though there isn't much in it that people don't already know as the gossip effect here is just as good as most colleges and ensures that nothing you do will be a secret for long. You have been warned you naughty little campers.
Nothing major.

Both the bar and the JCR, the social centres of college, are quite small but they are very friendly and play host to bops on a regular basis. These are disco-ridden cheese fests. If you can find a dodgy wig and flares then bring them with you, you will get plenty of use out of it. If that's not your thing then you may have problems. Oxford is good as a city socially but hardened clubbers may find themselves making the journey to London pretty often.
Various theme nights.
The major ball only comes around every two years and is therefore pretty big in terms of capacity, it is also very good.
Students have all the societies of the university as a whole at their disposal but the college boat club and the gliding club are both very strong. They are involved in regular activities but also form an extensive social hub.
None that we know of.

Accommodation at Pembroke is arranged in the traditional Oxford fashion with rooms clustered around staircases. Many have access to the college ethernet. The ever present conference trade means that none of the rooms is awful but there can be a bit of variation. The college employs staff to look after all your basic needs and this works much like a hotel. Great for a while but overbearing after not too long. Too many tut-tuts will get on your nerves. Food is quite good and is usually served at formal dinners. Again, nice for a while and then a pain in the proverbial.

There is some accommodation specially adapted for disabled students but it is in the finalists building. This could mean disabled first year students feeling a bit left out.

Lots of keen sports players come to Pembroke so the standard is high and participation is good. The facilities are not that much better than any other colleges though.

The College quads are very beautiful and are better maintained than many municipal gardens. There is plenty of green space nearby as well.
The McGowin library is where it all happens. The name comes from an American family that donated money for a new library building after the collection outgrew is previous residences. The resulting facility is excellent. The archives and ancient volumes can also be got at with prior permission. There are multiple copies of popular books.
Facilties are split up in various places. No one room has a great deal of machines and this is a problem come dissertation time. There are plenty of very dated machines and many students choose to bring their own equipment.
A doctor and nurse on site and the back-up of the entire university framework, as with all colleges, should see you through three years of university without too much damage.
