Loo News

This is perfect loo reading. It has gossip and news on events such as elections and results. It takes this piss quite heartily so if you are a bit of a character then expect to make several appearances!

Future Plans

Nothing we know of

Famous Alumni

Benazir Bhutto - Pakistani ex-president
Ann Widdecombe - Tory MP

Bars

The decent sized college bar is the focus of everything that goes on. The atmosphere is lively and the bar gets quite busy in the evenings. They also serve pub style food which is cheaper than the local area.

Major Functions

There are regular late night functions in the JCR and some decent live music quite often. There are a few venues for this. Traditional college 'bops' come round about once every three weeks. Along with this there are various daytime functions and quizzes, as if your brain wasn't being challenged enough!

Social Events

There is spiffing cocktail party thrown by the rowing club and various formal dinners and other black tie functions.

Major awards

Netball is strong at Lady Margaret. It has an even split of birds and geezers so that might explain things.

Percentage of first years in halls

General accommodation

Accommodation is provided in high rise blocks that don't really go with the rest of the college. They are newish and comfortable though. Just about everyone lives in college. Even most second years. There are formal dinners every week. These aren't compulsory but they are well attended and it's definitely the best food you will find for a fiver. The informal dinners are also good. LMH students will grow large with food then.

Libraries

There are two libraries, one of which is dedicated to law. Provision and access are both OK.

Computing facilities

There are 25 machines with 24hr access. This isn't enough and you can get left IT-less at busy times.

Student Welfare

There is a doctor and nurse and various elected officers to ease your passage from schoolboy/girl to future world leader.
