- Bars:
- There are two bars in the Student Union. Both the main SU bar and the Wheelroom are open everyday from 7-11pm. The Wheelroom tends to be more popular. When bored of the Union, most students head into Ashford. And when bored of Ashford students head for Canterbury which is a little more awake but not much. There are more students there because of the University of Kent and Canterbury Christs College
Although Wye is not bursting with things to do, both the SU and local bars are laid back and friendly. This isn't a place for the socially demanding though.
It is worth noting that Wye is now merely a department of Imperial college rather than an institution in its own right. This doesn't really seem to have affected the social life of the college at all and things are really no different.

- Functions:
- The Union has a Friday night disco. There are also occasional club nights in the Sports Hall and in the summer months there are parties in the college grounds.
|
- Major Social Events:
- Wye students are big on Balls, with over five a year, including Freshers, Christmas, Valentines and the Summer Ball. The Summer Ball lasts 12 hours and has live acts. In the summer, after the end of exams, there is Cricket Week in which plenty of drinking, and other stuff, takes place.
|
- Clubs & Societies:
- Due to the number of students at Wye there are not that many societies. However, the ones that do exist tend to be like American fraternities, with exclusive membership and parties. On the good side, though, Wye's societies tend not to be as selective as US frats.
