- The Students’ Union organises various themed nights and live bands to play on campus and a free bus service is offered to clubs in Cardiff once each week.

- The May Ball and the Athletic Union Dinner are the biggest events on campus, the 2005 May Ball featured Supergrass as the star performers. The Halloween Freak Fest, Christmas Snow Ball and Valentine's Day Dance also guarantee debauchery and good live music.

- Something for everyone from Athletics to Wing-ed Monkeys. Societies at Newport are often creatively based, with Circus Skills, Film-Making and Photography as popular groups.
