  Leeds Metropolitan University
Libraries:
There are three main libraries with around 400,000 books and 2,300 study places. The number of study places is good, but it would be best if they replaced some of these with more books, the number is not considered good for the size of the University. A £14 million Learning Centre has just been built at the City campus and does seem to be making a difference but not fast enough, Leeds Met students aren't just hungry for beer, they want to learn shit too. Wow.
Computing:
There are about 500 computer workstations at the university, there never seems to be a queue for machines so we can only guess that this is enough.
Sports:
LMU's sports facilties are excellent! There is a charge of £25 per year, but it is worth it. At Beckett Park there is the Centre for Excellency of Tennis, Carnegie Regional Gymnastics Centre, a swimming pool, squash courts, athletics, and playing fields. There are numerous football, rugby and lacrosse pitches as well as two floodlit synthetic pitches. Inside there are gyms, weight rooms, tennis courts and regular aerobics classes.

The facilties are also open to the public, as they were bought with Lottery funding. In the city there are leisure centres, saunas, a lake, golf courses and a ski slope.

Disabled Students:
2.5% of the University are considered disabled. There are a number of disabled student policies and charters, but this does not ensure that all the 60s buildings have good disabled access. At Becketts Park there is a disabled students officer and induction loops. Unipol, the accommodation service is particularly good with disabled students.
Student Welfare:
All in all everyone seems fairly happy with the Welfare provision. The Health Centres are staffed by nurses, there are five full-time counsellors to help with any problems that may occur during the year, and there is literature on virtually every problem that you could encounter!!

There is also a Debt Counsellor.

Parking:
Cars are not advised at the city campus, as parking is limited and public transport is alright. There is some parking at Beckett Park.
University Shops:
There are plenty of University and SU shops. Each of them sells papers, food, stationery etc. There is also an excellent job shop.
University Bookshops:
There are bookshops all around Leeds who will supply you all the books you will need. There may be a delay though.
Banking:
Beckett Park has a bank and there are plenty of cash machines of various flavours in the local area.
Transport Policy:
Public transport in Leeds is pretty good and taxis are not that expensive. There is also a university run bus from Beckett Park to the City campus.
Green Areas:
Plenty of green spaces out by Becketts Park. In the city, green areas are limited but not impossible to find.
