- Bars:
- The most popular of the campus's five bars is the Resnikov Bar, which is a great place to have a stiff drink after your 9:00am lecture. The Continental isn't a particularly mind blowing experience but is bright and airy.
Wednesday night is sports night and in the evening people head for the John McCarthy (named after the former hostage) It is very popular and the drinks flow steadily until the early hours, while the Chico Mendes (named after a Brazilian enviornmentalist) is ironically decorated with good quality hardwood. The Union's now houses The Asylum night club. The main hall is used as the dance and live music venue and the smaller bars are open when there are functions. It was all done up recently and looks nice.

- Functions:
- There are two main club nights of the week. Twisted is Saturday's groovy 70s, 80s, 90s, chart and cheese night, which has also been extended to Friday.
Most nights cost around £2.00, except when live acts appear, when the prices can rise to around £6.00. In the past bands such as Toploader, the Bluetones and Embrace have performed.
Friday and Saturday night are always popular, while during the rest of the week students tend to socialise in Hull, where there are several student nights. Good nights include Wednesday at the Fez and Monday at the Waterfront. On campus, smaller ents do occur, like quiz night and the comedy network.
On Wednesdays most sports players head for John McCarthy's then on to Tower nightclub.

- Major Social Events:
- There are several big social events throughout the year. Rag (charity), law, husso and ISA are some. The highlight however is the AU ball. This is not just open to athletes and is a cracker, taking place at a local racecourse with a funfair and fireworks. Evening wear a bit essential then. You can rent in a few places locally if you don't want to buy.
|
- Clubs & Societies:
- There are hundreds of clubs and societies at Hull, and only the most boring of students would be unable to find one they like. From the Cocktail Society to SHAGS, the Scouts and Guides Society (how they got the acronym, I don't know!) there is a great variety of enjoyable extra-curricular activities.
